Biography

Rebecca Clarren is a freelance journalist based in Portland, Oregon where she writes about the environment and labor issues. Aside from writing The Good Life, a column for Salon.com about sustainable products and trends, she also writes for other national magazines like Orion, Fortune, Ms. and Utne Reader about things like energy, farm workers and public health issues associated with natural resource development. A former editor at High Country News, her work is frequently supported by the Fund for Investigative Journalism. A recipient of numerous fellowships, she has been named a finalist for both the Alicia Patterson Foundation fellowship and the Dorothea Lange-Paul Taylor prize.
